Connect the device to power and place it in the room you want to measure. Give it a moment to start up and join your Wi-Fi network — it needs an internet connection to send readings to your account.
Follow the Wi-Fi setup instructions supplied with your device. Once it is connected, it begins sending a reading roughly every two seconds, on its own. You do not need to keep the app open for this.

Every device has a unique code of twelve characters, printed on the device itself — for example 08D1F9DC0DE8.
You can type it with or without separators; 08:D1:F9:DC:0D:E8 works exactly the same.

Open your dashboard, find Your TempFort devices, enter the code, and press Add device. You can give it a name like “Living room” to tell several devices apart.
Once added, the card shows its live surface temperature, air temperature and humidity, refreshing every few seconds. A green dot means the device is reporting right now.
A device can only be added after it has reported at least once. If you get a message saying it has not reported yet, the device has not reached the internet — check that it is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi, wait a few seconds, and try again. This check exists so you find out immediately, instead of waiting for readings that were never going to arrive.

دستگاه فقط پس از اینکه دستکم یک بار گزارش داده باشد قابل افزودن است. اگر پیام دیدید که هنوز گزارشی نداده، یعنی دستگاه به اینترنت نرسیده است — بررسی کنید روشن باشد و به وایفای وصل باشد، چند ثانیه صبر کنید و دوباره تلاش کنید. این بررسی عمداً گذاشته شده تا بلافاصله متوجه شوید، نه اینکه منتظر قرائتهایی بمانید که قرار نبوده برسند.
Put the surface probe in contact with the wall, ceiling or window you want to assess, on a clean, flat spot. Avoid places in direct sunlight, right above a radiator, or in a draught from a vent or open door — moving air breaks the physics the calculation relies on.
Keep the air sensor at least 50 cm away from the surface, so it measures room air rather than the thin, still layer clinging to the wall.
Let it settle for about three minutes before taking the reading. The measurement is an average of that period, not a single instant, which is what makes it stable.

Open Energy Analysis, select the surface you are measuring, and press Read from device. The surface and air temperatures fill in automatically from your device.
The button confirms how many samples the average was built from. Around ninety samples means a solid three-minute average; a much smaller number means the device was only reporting briefly, and the result is less reliable.
If you have more than one device paired, a selector appears next to the button so you can choose which one to read.

You get the heat flux through that surface in watts per square metre, and the total power lost through it in watts — each shown as a range, not a single number.
That range is deliberate. It is the expanded uncertainty of the measurement, and reporting a bare number would claim more precision than the physics allows. A wide range usually means conditions were poor: too little temperature difference between the surface and the room, or a disturbed air layer.
Once you have measured several surfaces, the envelope summary ranks them by watts lost rather than by flux — which answers the question that actually matters: what should you fix first. A large wall losing modestly can cost you more than a small window losing intensely.
Press Save to my account to keep the report; it appears on your dashboard under Recent reports.

It has not sent anything for over two minutes. Check that it has power and that your Wi-Fi network is working. The device retries on its own — once it reconnects, the dot turns green again within a few seconds, and no readings you already took are lost.
یعنی بیش از دو دقیقه چیزی نفرستاده است. بررسی کنید برق داشته باشد و شبکهٔ وایفای شما کار کند. دستگاه خودش دوباره تلاش میکند — بهمحض اتصال مجدد، نقطه ظرف چند ثانیه دوباره سبز میشود و هیچکدام از قرائتهای قبلی از دست نمیرود.
There were no readings in the last three minutes. Usually the device is offline, or it was only just powered on. Wait a few seconds and try again — you can confirm it is reporting by checking the green dot on your dashboard.
یعنی در سه دقیقهٔ گذشته هیچ قرائتی نبوده است. معمولاً دستگاه آفلاین است یا تازه روشن شده. چند ثانیه صبر کنید و دوباره تلاش کنید — با نگاه به نقطهٔ سبز در پنل کاربری میتوانید مطمئن شوید که در حال گزارش دادن است.
Almost always the temperature difference between the surface and the room air is too small to measure against. Measure when it is colder outside, so the wall is meaningfully cooler than the room. Readings taken with less than half a degree of difference carry very little information.
تقریباً همیشه به این معناست که اختلاف دمای سطح و هوای اتاق برای اندازهگیری بسیار کم است. زمانی اندازه بگیرید که بیرون سردتر باشد تا دیوار بهطور محسوسی از اتاق خنکتر شود. قرائتهایی که با اختلاف کمتر از نیم درجه گرفته میشوند اطلاعات بسیار کمی دارند.
